    New Jersey landlords, terminate a tenant who has violated provisions of the lease or rental agreement by serving them with this 30-Day Notice to Quit.

    • The Notice to Quit can only be given after a Notice to Cease has been served warning the tenant of the violations and instructing them to remedy the issues. After the tenant has failed to remedy the violations, the landlord can serve the Notice to Quit.
    • This Notice informs the tenant that the tenancy is now terminated and the tenant must vacate the premises 30 days after receiving the Notice.
    • If the tenant does not vacate the premises, the landlord will start eviction proceedings.
