CHERRY BREAD
1 6-oz jar maraschino cherries
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
3/4 c. white sugar
2 Tbsp. melted butter

Drain cherries well. Add enough milk to cherry juice to make 1 cup. Cut cherries in half, add nuts and sprinkle with 1/4 c. of the flour. Sift remaining flour with baking powder. Beat egg and sugar together till thick and fluffy. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk/juice mixture. Add melted butter. Fold in cherries and nuts. Turn into greased loaf pan. Bake at 325F. about 60 minutes.
