German Apple Pie Recipe
GERMAN APPLE PIE
9" frozen unbaked deep dish pie shell
4 finely chopped Golden Delicious apples
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. sour cream
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preheat oven to 450F. In large bowl, combine apples, 3/4 c. sugar, flour, sour cream, eggs and vanilla. Mix well and pour into pie shell. Bake for 30 minutes.
While pie is baking, mix 1/3 c. sugar, butter, flour and cinnamon together. Remove pie from oven after 30 minutes and decrease heat to 325F, cover top of pie with the cinnamon mixture, and bake at the lower heat for another 20 minutes.
