Use this Intellectual Property Identification and Protection Checklist to help your company identify and protect its rights to its IP assets (such as copyright, trade mark, patent, industrial design, trade secrets). The analysis includes:

• determination of authorship and/or ownership of each item,
  
• tracking whether assets have been registered,
  
• tracking assignment of rights to third parties,
  
• determining if moral rights waivers have been obtained, wherever appropriate,
  
• determining if the company is taking all steps necessary to ensure that confidential information remains confidential.
