Contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers who furnish labor, materials, equipment or construction services for private improvement projects are entitled to file a lien. However, you must first file a preliminary notice within 30 calendar days of the day on which labor, materials, equipment or services were first furnished to the project, otherwise you will lose your lien rights.
The lien must be filed within 150 days from the last day on which labor, materials, equipment or services were supplied, and it must be enforced within 180 days from the date on which the lien is filed.
