Alberta Self Storage Rental Agreement
Overview
This Self Storage Rental Agreement template is designed for quick and easy use by Alberta storage facilities, including those providing vehicle storage spaces in garages or carports.
This contract may be used for renting space for vehicle storage, whether in a garage or carport, as well as for general storage purposes.
Rental Period
The rental period for the storage unit is on a month-to-month basis, allowing flexibility for both the owner and renter.
Renter Disclosure of Contents
The renter is required to provide a detailed list of the contents stored in the unit, including the approximate value of each item. Additionally, the names of any lienholders or other parties with a claim on any of the contents must be supplied.
Locks and Insurance
The renter is responsible for supplying their own locks for the storage unit. It is also the renter's duty to obtain and maintain appropriate insurance coverage for the stored contents.
Access to Unit
Access to the storage unit is permitted during the owner's regular business hours, provided the renter remains in compliance with all terms of the contract.
Owner’s Lien and Abandonment
If the renter defaults on the agreement, the owner is granted a lien on the contents of the storage unit. In the event that property is abandoned by the occupant, it will be disposed of in accordance with provincial law.
Legal Jurisdiction
This rental agreement is intended solely for use within the Province of Alberta, Canada.
