British Columbia's Real Estate Services Act requires property managers to be licensed. One of the requirements for licensing is that applicants be of "good reputation". The Real Estate Council will investigate the applicant's background, personal and business reputation, and the applicant must make full disclosure of any previous charges or convictions.
To obtain a license, applicants must also complete the required courses, which can take up to a year.
