Who Can File a Construction Lien in Wyoming?
In Wyoming, contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers who provide labor, materials, equipment, or construction services for private improvement projects have the right to file a construction lien.
However, to preserve these lien rights, it is essential to file a preliminary notice within 30 calendar days from the date labor, materials, equipment, or services were first supplied to the project.
Failure to file this preliminary notice within the required timeframe will result in the loss of your lien rights.
What to Do If Payment Is Not Received
If you do not receive payment for your work, it is important to be aware of the deadlines for enforcing your lien.
The construction lien must be filed within 150 days from the last day labor, materials, equipment, or services were provided. Once the lien has been filed, it must be enforced within 180 days from the date of filing.
Adhering to these deadlines is critical to maintaining your right to payment under Wyoming law.
