Washington Notice of Abandonment

Overview

This Notice of Abandonment is designed for landlords in the State of Washington who suspect that a tenant has abandoned the rental premises. It must be served in accordance with the requirements of the Residential Landlord-Tenant Act.

Notification to Tenant

The tenant is hereby notified that they are in default of their rental payment. The landlord has reason to believe that the premises have been abandoned by the tenant.

Tenant Property

The landlord has taken possession of any property left behind by the tenant at the rental unit. The tenant has 45 days from the date of this notice to claim their property. If the property is not claimed within this period, the landlord will proceed to sell or dispose of the items.

Service of Notice

A Service of Notice form is included with the Notice of Abandonment. This form is used to record the details of how the notice was served to the tenant.
