State Law Regarding Lien Waivers
Hawaii law does not require specific statutory forms for lien waivers, and it does not contain any specific statutory provisions regulating the lien waiver process.
Unconditional waivers are not prohibited under State law, and also does not prohibit lien waivers in advance of payment or furnishing of labor or materials.

Hawaii Conditional Waiver and Release of Lien - Final Payment
Have you received final payment for your work on a construction job in Hawaii? It's time to provide the property owner with a Conditional Waiver and Release of Lien on Final Payment.
This document acknowledges that, upon receipt and clearance of the final payment, all of the contractor’s lien rights and claims related to the labor, materials, or equipment supplied for the property's improvements are relinquished.
Effectiveness of the Waiver
The waiver and release only become effective once the payment has been received and has cleared the owner’s bank. Until this condition is met, the contractor's rights to claim a lien against the property remain intact. Once the payment has cleared, all such rights and claims are fully waived and released.

Hawaii Unconditional Waiver and Release of Lien - Final Payment
HI contractors, release your lien rights after receipt of final payment on a construction project with this Hawaii Unconditional Waiver and Release of Lien Upon Final Payment.
This document authorizes the release of any lien rights or claims for payment that the contractor may have against the property owner’s property, after receiving final payment on a construction project. By signing this form, the contractor acknowledges receipt of final payment and relinquishes any remaining claims related to the completed work, except for any disputed amounts.
Using the Form
The Unconditional Waiver and Release should only be used after the contractor has received final payment for the project, with the exception of any amounts currently in dispute.
The Waiver and Release form provides assurance to the property owner that no further claims will be made against the property related to the work performed.
Notice of Completion
This document package also includes a Notice of Completion form for signature by the owner / customer, to confirm that the construction project has been completed and that all contractual obligations have been fulfilled.
