His deep baritone voice, poetic lyrics and exotic demeanor helped make the band one of one of rock's most potent, controversial, and theatrical acts.
Jim Morrison died of heart failure in Paris at the age of 28, probably due to his excessive drug and alcohol use. His grave site holds almost mystical significance for many of his fans.
